The Office of the Auditor General has released a Special Report entitled The State of Financial Accountability Reporting.
Auditor General Dan Duguay explained that the objective of the review was to document the present state of financial accountability for all Government entities, including statutory authorities and government companies. The report details the current financial reporting status for all 12 government Ministries and Portfolios as well as the 25 statutory authorities and government companies. The report also makes recommendations to improve the current situation.
This document, which has been distributed to all members of the Legislative Assembly, is available for public review. Copies can be obtained at the Office of the Auditor General, 3rd Floor, Anderson Square, or it may be accessed through the Cayman Islands Government website.
This review was conducted in accordance with section 61 (b)(ii) of the Public Management and Finance Law (2005 revision).
