The Office of the Auditor General released today a Special Report entitled Loans and Expenditures at Boatswain's Beach.
Auditor General Dan Duguay explained that the audit reported on loans made to the former Managing Director of Boatswain's Beach. It looked at the approval process used to authorize loans made to the Managing Director and the roles played by both the Board of Directors and senior financial management of Boatswain's Beach in authorizing these loans. The report makes recommendations about loans and advances that the Office hopes will be adopted by all government entities. In addition, the report reviewed certain hospitality expenses of the former Managing Director.
"This Special Report focuses on activities relating to Boatswain's Beach. This report makes very specific recommendations relating to employee loans and advances and I am pleased that these recommendations have already been largely adopted by the new Board of Directors of Boatswain's Beach. I believe that these recommendations should be adopted by all government entities." said Mr. Duguay.
