The Office of the Auditor General has released a Special Report entitled The Purchase of a Helicopter by the Royal Cayman Islands Police.
Auditor General Dan Duguay explained that the objective of the audit was to review the processes relating to the procurement of the helicopter.
The Report summarizes the costs to date and the decision making process used through the evaluation and purchase phases of the project. The Report also reviews the current regulatory environment relating to the use of this helicopter and the effects the regulatory environment may have on day to day operations.
This Report, which has been distributed to all members of the Legislative Assembly, is available for public review. Copies can be obtained at the Office of the Auditor General, 3rd Floor, Anderson Square, or it may be accessed through the Cayman Islands Government website. (Look under Features on the home page.)
